AIDS as a False Emergency?
One of the things I like about the IP-health listserv I’m signed up for (who me, precociously wonk?) is that, in addition to having substantive updates on various issues from an activist perspective, it sometimes features links to articles written from other perspectives (for example, it’s always interesting to see how business/financial journals treat issues related to social justice).
And without such links, it would be easier to forget that there are some groups who seem diametrically opposed to the things the IP-health community stands for– as in the following inflammatory press release from the American Conservatives Union, which derides Brazil’s battle against AIDS as a “false emergency”: (more…)
